An excellent property with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It is excellently located and a great place to stay if you want to relax after a day of travelling. There are 3 outdoor swimming pools, acres of gardens and a number of places to sunbathe or simply relax. Very child friendly. There is free parking and a great bar with satellite TV screens. lobby
A quaint and welcoming lobby greets all guests. There is a small reception desk as you walk up the entrance steps with the breakfast room and restaurant to the left and right.
exterior
The old manor house forms the focal point of the lodge, and there are single storey chalets with thatched roofs, spread out amongst the lawns.
restaurant
This is a fantastic restaurant with a very good reputation. The menu is changed regularly and offers a fantastic choice of local and international food. I wide choice of wine is also available. The restaurant itself has wooden floors and large windows overlooking the grounds.
rooms
These are really excellent 3* rooms, all en-suite with satellite TV, fans and table and chairs. The decor in the rooms follows a forest theme with stylish pictures of ferns and other plants. Each room has a terrace either overlooking one of the hotel's pools or gardens.
location
In the middle of South Africa's famous Garden Route, the hotel is just 1 km from Knysna and nestled in amongst beautiful countryside just a few hundred metres from the Knysna lagoon. The nearest airport is at George, 65 kilometres away.
