The Hilton Batang Ai longhouse resort is situated on the shores of batang ai lake surrounded by mountains and rain forest, 275kms and 4 hours drive from Kuching city.
rooms
The medium size rooms again follow the traditional theme, with wood used for floors, walls and ceiling. All rooms have airconditioning and in very good condition, supplied with all the facilites expected from a Hilton product. The bathrooms are also medium sized and come with shower.
restaurant
"nanga mepi" restaurant serves traditional iban and western cuisine and the "wong irup" bar/lounge serves drinks and cocktails.
exterior
A wooden traditionally styled building of tribal iban architecture.
lobby
The lobby is medium size and with an open concept with extensive use of high quality rain forest timber.
general
There are many local leisure activities in the immediate surroundings, including outdoor pool, canoeing, longboat excursion, jungle treking, fishing and biking. The Hilton Batang Ai is a very peaceful, ideal for relaxation without crowds of fellow tourists. Nov98.
