restaurantThe St George's restaurant is renowned for its excellent cuisine with traditional English Cuisine and Yorkshire speciailites. The room is large and spacious with long drapes on the windows.
exteriorThis is a traditional, 5 storey, Victorian building with a pale stone facade: Most impressive building to look at.
lobbyThe hotel lobby is medium in size and elegant in decor with a mahogany reception desk and a few sofas. There is plenty of Space for groups and their luggage.
generalThe hotel was built in the Victorian period around 1851 and is famous as the birthplace of Rugby League Football, the meeting that founded the organisation was held here in 1895 and the memorabilia recalling this can be found throughout the hotel as well as in the recently opened Rugby League Museum. The Hotel is the perfect environment for business overnight stays, weekend's away, rugby league fanatics or visiting friends and family. Situated in the main square of Huddersfield, the building compliments its neighbour, the Huddersfield Railway Station with its fine Italian facade designed by William Walker.
