The Schweizerhof's gourmet restaurant Schmitte has been an insider tip for years. Serving international as well as local cuisine. This is highly recommended restaurant.
exterior
The hotel is traditional in style and consists of several buildings which have been linked together. Most of the apartments and chalets have balconies overlooking the Eiger.
lobby
The large lobby is very welcoming. It is ornately decorated with Swiss wood panelling. Both the reception area and the bar have plenty of seating.
general
This is one of the best if not the best hotel in the village, it was recently fully refurbished. It offers grat variety of accommodation, from standard bedrooms to appartments, suites and even chalets.
rooms
The rooms vary from medium to large and are quite individual in design. The majority are quite traditional in style with high ceilings. All rooms have quality furnishings and are in exceptional condition as are the bathrooms.
location
This hotel is located in the centre of the glacier village of Grindelwald, opposite the railway station and within easy access to all the lifts and shops and enjoying spectacular views of the mountains.
