Originally built as a monastery in 1621, the Sofitel Santa Clara Hotel is a reference point in the heart of Cartagena de Indias, where its walls, which acted as a shield in ancient times, combine with colonial balconies and republican structures to evokethe splendor of days gone by. In recognition of its great cultural and architectural wealth, the walled city, with its castles and bastions, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Center in 1984.

EL REFECTORIO - formerly the Clarisas nuns dining room, it is today the most tasteful restaurant offering contemporary food at dinner time. It is fully decorated and set with colonial-style furniture, and plays soft background music. EL CLAUSTRO. EL CORO - El Coro (the Choir), so called because of its original use in the old monastery, is an exclusive bar lounge where you can enjoy exclusive cocktails and listen to live music from Thursday to Saturday. It's also a great place to read during the day.
