locationJust a short walk from the Central station, this hotel is part of the old quarters of Amsterdam overlooking the main shopping street of the city. Its location is quite busy but very easy to reach due to the fact that many buses and trams stop in front of the building.
roomsThe bedrooms are medium to large, but vary slightly in size due to the age of the building. They have recently been completely renovated, as has the entire property, and now offer a more deluxe accommodation with warm colour schemes and all the facilities one would expect from a superior first class hotel.
restaurantThe restaurant has benefitted from a complete overhaul and is now larger and far more modern. Even the menu has changed to offer more contemporary dishes. The old "Dorrius" in the old style may still be hired out. One of the hotels best features is still its extensive buffet breakfast.
exteriorThe hotel consists of many old gable houses so it has a traditional exterior, but in contrast the interior is modern.
lobbyThe lobby area has been completely renovated and now offers a large and airy, contemporary atmosphere. It leads to a very large "living room" with comfortable seating, a fireplace, a library and where drinks may also be served
generalThis is a very good hotel in a perfect location which benefitted from a major renovation in 2009 and now offers classy accommodation in a prime location. jg/07/2010
