This hotel is without doubt one of the best 3 star hotels in Amsterdam, and with an excellent, central position is perfect for all markets. 040208JG
lobby
The lobby is small and narrow but completely refurbished and very attractive with a mahogany effect reception desk. There are train tracks painted on the floor which lead to the breakfast room and elevators.
exterior
This is a traditional building in keeping with its neighbouring buildings in the typical Dutch style.
restaurant
This is an extension of the lobby and serves breakfast only. It is designed in the style of a train restaurant car with banquette for tables, decorated in green and wood and with pictures of trains as well as luggage racks and a train track along the floor.
rooms
The bedrooms are all in very good condition and range from small to medium in size as this is a traditional, old Amsterdam house and therefore typical of a lot of hotels in Amsterdam. Some have unique features such as being split level or exposed beams etc. They all have rose and gold bedspreads and blue and gold curtains, with rosewood effect furniture. The bathrooms, with shower only, are more modern with granite flooring and hairdryers and the superior rooms are larger than the stanadard rooms
location
Excellently located in the centre of Amsterdam, opposite Central Station and so within walking distance of all major attractions and shopping and entertainment areas.
